Continuing to Los Angeles after a successful run in New York and Chicago, the Vision and Art of Shinjo Ito opened at the Westwood Art Forum on May 8th, 2008. The exhibit was met with unprecedented popularity in a city known more for its role in the film industry than for its appreciation of Buddhist art.

Well-attended free events included a discussion on art with Professor Margaret Miles, yoga classes, several meditation sessions, and meditative calligraphy guided by the spiritual head of Shinnyo-en. The event was an unusual chance for newcomers to participate in a class combining meditation and Japanese calligraphy led by Her Holiness Shinso Ito.

As the Los Angeles exhibit drew to a close in late June, so did the US portion of this incredible tour. The next stop is Italy. More details regarding dates and locations are soon to come.
